Original Item: Only One Available. This is a typical Officer's Private Purchase telescope from the First World War. Officer's were of a higher pay grade, and were expected to purchase much of their own field gear. This three draw trench telescope is of all brass construction, and has leather covers over the main barrel and sun shade. It measures 35" overall when fully extended including the front sun shade and 11" when fully closed. It still functions correctly, giving a clear image, though the optics could probably use some cleaning. It has an eyepiece lens cover on the HIGH magnification eyepiece that is installed.
It is maker marked on the inner draw of the telescope, near the eyepiece:

The Lancashire Fusiliers were a line infantry regiment of the British Army that saw distinguished service through many centuries and wars, including the Second Boer War, World War I and World War II, and had many different titles throughout its 280 years of existence. In 1968 the regiment was amalgamated with the other regiments of the Fusilier Brigade–the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers and the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment)–to form the current Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
Overall, this telescope is really quite nice, and the three draws extend smoothly. The leather covers are just beginning to come a little unstrung, but could easily be re-stitched by any Shoe Maker.
